MY EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
I received my Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Sociology from Portland State University. Afterwards I spent several years working in Human Resources, while using free time to volunteer at nonprofits working with individuals experiencing houselessness, as well as with foster youth. Over time I realized my joy was in walking beside folks, listening to their stories, and connecting them with resources, so I went back to school in 2020 to get my Masters in Social Work. I graduated from The University of Chicago in 2022 and since then worked both as a medical social worker and a therapist. As a medical social worker, I provided in-patient services within a psychiatric hospital and within an outpatient dialysis clinic. As a therapist I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a diverse range of issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, racial and social justice issues, and acute and complex trauma.
I’m passionate about building a collaborative environment where individuals can feel heard, increase their skillset, and find movement toward a life of hope, fulfillment, and connection.
I practice at the intersection of evidence-based therapies and a warm relational approach. In the therapy room I utilize Contextual Behavior Therapy (ACT, DBT), Mindfulness, and Cognitive Processing Therapy, all through a strengths-based, client-focused, and trauma-informed lens.
The foundation of the work we do in sessions is based on the therapeutic relationship and establishing a confidential space. It’s my goal to ensure you feel welcome and seafe to share as we collaborate towards achieving your treatment goals.
